BISHOPVILLE, S.C. – Lee County School District (LCSD) Superintendent Dr. Wanda Andrews says that the S.C. State Department of Education (SCDE) approved the position of Grant Evaluator for Barbara Champagne, Superintendent of Clarendon School District One, in response to misuse of funds allegations lodged by the most recently elected LCSD board member Reggitt James.

According to Andrews, Champagne services LCSD’s School Improvement Grant (SIG) and has done so since 2017. The district continues to administer and adhere according to the parameters of the grant as outlined by the SCDE.

LCSD has been and will continue to be a transparent school district as it relates to financial matters. Despite the distraction at such a crucial time of the year – testing, LCSD remains focused on producing students who are successful members of an ever-changing society, says Andrews.

The district’s financial records can be found under the Finance tab on our website at as mandated by state laws. All questions and concerns should be directed to District Office Personnel at 803.484.5327.
