Lee County School District (LCSD) has identified district level winners of the 54th National Career Development Association (NCDA) Poetry and Poster Contest who will go on to compete at the state and national levels.
Eleven Lee Central High School (LCHS) students participated in the contest themed, “My Inspiring Future Career.”
LCHS Senior Quadriyyah Brown placed first; Junior L'Shaun Woods, placed second; and Sophomore Kaylee Bird placed third in the poetry division. LCHS Senior Donquez Hickmon placed first and Freshman Delquesha Miller placed second (artwork attached) in the poster division, category 1 (original work).
This honor qualifies these students to compete at the state level. Winners at the state level will be announced in the spring of 2020. That distinction qualifies students to compete nationally. The national winners will be recognized at the NCDA 2020 Conference to be held in Minneapolis, Minn., June 30-July 2, 2020. Their work will also be placed on display.
