RE: Lee County Schools to Adjust Schedules Due to Impending Weather Conditions
Due to the impending severe weather conditions that may include high winds and heavy rain associated with Hurricane Idalia, Lee County School District will have early dismissal on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m.; middle and high schools will dismiss at 12 noon.
All extra-curricular and athletic events scheduled for Wednesday afternoon have been canceled as well.
Lee County School District will also operate on a two-hour delayed schedule on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
School officials will continue to monitor information provided by the National Weather Service, local news, and recommendations from the Lee County Emergency Preparedness Office. If the situation becomes more severe, schedules will be adjusted accordingly. Parents of students in Lee County School District can expect communication related to school-schedule updates via automated telephone messages, website updates, and social media.
