A Strong Start for Our Youngest Learners
Lee County School District is proud to offer the Child Early Reading and Development Education Program (CERDEP) for eligible four-year-olds. This free, full-day preschool program prepares children to enter kindergarten confident, capable, and excited to learn.
What the Program Offers

Full-Day Classes (Monday–Friday): Engaging lessons in literacy, math, science, and social-emotional skills.

Certified Teachers: Highly trained early childhood educators.

Small Class Sizes: More individual attention for each child.

Family Partnerships: Parent workshops, conferences, and resources to support learning at home.

School Readiness Focus: Building the skills children need to thrive in kindergarten.
Who Can Enroll
Children must:

Be 4 years old on or before September 1 of the school year.

Live in Lee County, South Carolina.

Meet state eligibility guidelines (priority is given to families with the greatest need).

Enrollment & Registration

Registration Opens: Each spring for the upcoming school year.

Proof of residency (utility bill, lease, etc.)

Immunization record (DHEC 4024 form)

Families may register at Lee Central Elementary School, located at 129 Charlene Lane, Bishopville, SC 29010.
Additional Services

Free Meals: Breakfast and lunch served daily.

Transportation: School bus service available for enrolled students.
